We are a community of 13 experienced and dedicated financial advisers, backed by a great support team. With a breadth of experience and knowledge, we all have one thing in common - a commitment to helping our clients create financial wellbeing.
My passion is to develop client focussed, high performing teams with a culture of excellence. There is no greater joy than working alongside like-minded people who want to make a significant difference in the lives of their clients and supporting team members.
I love reading client testimonials about how MiQ advice and strategy has helped clients achieve their financial and personal goals.
My wife (Leanne) and I are enjoying being back in Brisbane after an 8 year absence, living in Coffs Harbour and running the Branch network in northern NSW for the Commonwealth Bank. Prior to that, I was the National Manager of Westpac Financial Planning and Advice (Consumer Segment). I was responsible for about 450 Financial Planners across Australia, which I did for a number years following a successful period as the Regional General Manager for Westpac in Queensland.
I enjoy playing and watching a variety of sports - and hope that one day, Liverpool, the Roar and the Roosters can all get back to past glories. Other than that, a good wine and the company of good friends and family are the things that make life great.
I have been with MiQ for 6 years and I wear two work hats – Chief Financial Officer and Financial Adviser. As an adviser I get pleasure from partnering with my clients getting to know them and positioning them to best achieve their lifestyle goals, and also enjoy my role and the challenge of being the company Chief Financial Officer.
My passions are travel, my faith and I have a concern about social justice. I have one husband and two adult children. My husband and I are late starters in learning the skill of skiing. I'm sure I’ll never get to the black run level but greens are more my style and easier blue runs my goal. I like to keep reasonably physically fit (at the gym, cycling or bushwalking) and if you're interested in bike and barge holidays, I'm the person to ask!
I love my job. Being a Financial Adviser has allowed me to meet many wonderful people and given me an incredible sense of satisfaction in knowing that I have been able to help my clients secure their financial future.
Outside of work my life is dominated by my family. I have three children - Thomas, Sam and Lulu. I try to be actively involved with the kids at school and enjoy volunteering there on a regular basis. My weekends are dominated by watching the boys play sport and spending time together as a family. I fancy myself as a bit of a cook and am happiest when my home is overrun by friends and relatives, music and laughter.
The knowledge that your occupation can really make a difference in the financial decision making process of an individual, couple, family or business is what still gives me a buzz after 27 years of financial planning. In an ever changing world, people need someone to assist them through all the legislative changes, investment choices and strategic options. I can help them and that's a good feeling. As a founding partner in MiQ my experience in business growth, structures and entities puts me in a good space to help businesses take their next steps to success.
Without a doubt my family has been the major driving force in my life. My wife Christine and I have four fantastic children and two wonderful grandchildren. Family always brings you back to earth and gives perspective to what are my priorities of life. I have a passion for track and field where I am a level 3 coach and volunteer my time to schools. I enjoy the occasional game of golf and consider myself a reasonable judge of wine. A North Sydney Bears "Tragic" I await the day they return to the NRL. It may be a long wait.
Knowing that I always do the very best for my clients and they have full confidence and trust in me gives me great joy. I take pride in forming deep relationships based on mutual respect and genuine friendship.
Outside MiQ, I thrive on the love and company of my family especially my wonderful handful of grandchildren. Living away from them, I try to spend as much time as I possibly can with them in Singapore. Nothing gives me more pleasure than just being around them.
My passion at work is serving my customers with care and sincerity. Because of the way that I work, my clients and I have long lasting deep relationships that are built on mutual trust.
Outside of my Monday to Friday work, I very much look forward to carrying out volunteer work at the Buddhist temple every Saturday. In addition to that, I love to spend time with my family especially my precious 2 nieces, Isabel and Elsa.
I have provided financial advice for 20 years across a broad spectrum of circumstances for both individuals and small businesses. This includes investment, wealth creation, insurance and superannuation. In that time, I have developed a special interest in retirement planning and engaging, as required, with Centrelink and/or Veteran Affairs.
I'm married with grown up daughters and have a lifelong passion for reading, Collingwood Football Club and AFL football.
As a Financial Adviser, I really enjoy making a difference in people's lives. In helping them make some of the biggest and most important decisions and feeling part of those decisions and successes as time goes on and life progresses. I love meeting new people and establishing long term associations with my clients.
I am married and a passionate family man, with two children Emily and Lachlan. My family is still relatively young and my weekends are occupied with kids' sports. My other passion is Rugby League and I am a keen Broncos supporter and member, enjoying going to all home games with my children. My life passion is seeing my family and my children happy, healthy and successful in anything they wish to do.
I am committed to providing strategic financial planning and investment management guidance for individuals, families, trusts, superannuation funds, estates and business proprietors. I gain immense satisfaction in helping clients to achieve their personal and financial goals whilst preparing for retirement, including strategies to minimise financial risks and protect their wealth. I also really enjoy assisting clients to manage their wealth and maintain financial independence throughout their retirement years.
Rebecca and I have been married since 1998 and are fortunate to have two beautiful children, Byron and Ruby. When out of the office, I like to spend time exploring the great outdoors of the Sunshine Coast region with my family, keeping fit, and adventure riding on my GS1200 motorbike. I also love AFL footy, and remain hopeful of one day attending the Grand Final at the MCG to see the mighty Carlton Blues win a premiership.
As a Financial Planner I love the fact that we are helping individuals and families achieve their financial goals and taking away the stress of managing their financial affairs. Our profession is all about relationships and understanding, I still enjoy being face to face with my clients everyday and providing solutions and strategies that give them piece of mind and brighter financial future.
My wife Angela and 2 beautiful children Joshua and Tahlia are my life away from work, so we are busy with bike rides, swimming, boating and the beach, plus I enjoy coaching Junior soccer. In my spare time, you will find me watching my children play sport and enjoying my sporting passion of Golf, and one day my handicap will be below 5. Other than that there is nothing better than a BBQ with friends or just relaxing with a good book.
I enjoy working as a Financial Adviser because of the diverse range of wonderful clients I get to meet and form lasting relationships with. A big part of the attraction to financial planning is that every day provides new challenges, and every client circumstance is different; however, achieving client's goals always provides a real sense of satisfaction. I've been fortunate to visit clients in some fantastic places throughout Australia, allowing me to experience many breathtaking corners of the country.
Outside of work I'm a keen member of my local Rural Fire Brigade, who are actively involved in the community providing fire fighting and rescue response. On most weekends you'll find me out on the water wetting a line relaxing with good mates.
"Everybody IS different"
Being a financial advisor is such a rewarding career. I really do enjoy advising people who may come from vastly different backgrounds and present their own individual needs and goals. My role is to help people make more informed decisions, providing honest perspective, guiding them toward their own dreams, and of course being there in challenging times.
I have spent 31 years in the financial services industry, with the last 24 years advising. Having only recently merged my advice practice into MiQ, I very much look forward to the future.
I am married to Kylie, we have two adult daughters and one large fur-baby. We live on the bayside hence I enjoy pretty much anything to do with water - fishing, boating and some "half serious" sailing (although a Sydney to Hobart may be some time off)! In a past life I played quite a bit of the round ball game but enjoy all footy codes and of course cricket!!
My whole career has been in financial planning and that's because I love what I do. Helping clients to see through the noise, focus on their goals and achieve their dreams is what makes this such a great industry to work in. Financial planning can be a real minefield and I love being able to make it far simpler for our clients.
Outside of work my life revolves around my family. With two children of my own and two step-children, life is busy! Extra-curricular activities and family outings consume the weekends, but ultimately family is what it's all about and the more time we can spend together the better it is for all of us. My partner, Chris, and I both emigrated from the UK many years ago, leaving behind the cold climate, opting to live and subsequently raise our children in the warmer climes of Sunny Queensland. A wonderful decision and a lifetime of happiness.
Financially coaching and educating my clients has been the most rewarding experience over the past 35 years that I have spent in Banking and Financial Planning. The ultimate compliment a client can give you is to refer you to a family member and assist them with their inter-generational wealth shift. I enjoy making a contribution to my client's financial destiny in growing and protecting their wealth.
My family is my passion, with 3 children and a beautiful wife. We enjoy visiting our hobby block where we try our hand at making olive oil. We educate our clients about lifestyle choices, so we practice what we preach and take the opportunity when it arises to enjoy the beach. We all love surfing and fishing and exploring our vast coastline.
Rotary has been part of my life for 23 years providing service to the community. In my current role as Assistant District Governor, I enjoy coaching and motivating other Rotarians to fulfil the moto of Rotary "Service above Self". As an avid Carlton fan, I look forward to the next flag, but have been advised that I might be waiting a while.
I have spent most of my working life in Banking and Financial Planning and joined MiQ Private Wealth in 2011 as a Client Service Manager working in our Brisbane Office. In mid 2017 the opportunity of a new position of Associate Adviser came up in Geraldton. My family and I decided to take this opportunity and move to the West. In this new role I have the opportunity to give advice to clients and blend this together with client service administration that I have done for many years. I get to work closely with Dan to assist in servicing our existing and new clients and make a difference to their lives.
Outside of work I am always moving, either running, cycling or swimming and most of the time it is with my husband. I am a qualified Personal Trainer and Triathlon Coach and have been known to enjoy a good competition. I have two amazing children Hayden who is at Uni in Brisbane and Zali who has moved to Geraldton with us.
Helping clients and their families make informed decisions about their finances and assisting them to achieve their lifestyle goals through those choices. That doesn't mean getting the highest investment returns possible, but getting comfortable returns in the right structures with the least amount of risk. For me, it's all about 'peace of mind'.
Outside of financial planning, I love to travel, paint (mainly watercolour) and work with our horses (eventing and showing). Family is very important to me and I try not to take work home as that is family time ☺ I'm hoping to add scuba diving to the list in the next ten years!
As a Financial Planner, I most enjoy helping our clients to discover what they really want from their financial future and then working with them to achieve this. I have been working within the financial planning profession since 2001, with more than seven years as a Financial Planner.
In my personal time I enjoy spending time with my partner and 2 young children William and Stella. We especially like taking regular mini trips to the country and enjoy visiting new places while catching up with friends and family.
Over the past 50 years, I have enjoyed a successful banking career at both branch level as well as in the bank's administration. But my passion has always been to assist people achieve their financial and lifestyle goals which encouraged me into the Financial Planning profession 30 years ago. I became dedicated to the education of our clients to better understand that there are always solutions to the problems they believed they had. This was a philosophy I followed during my Banking career, but realised I could do more through a career in Financial Planning.
As a Financial Planner, I completed my CFP qualifications, was the inaugural Chairman of the local FPA chapter, a member of the Board of Advisers with a large Dealer Group and promoted the need for all Financial Planners in our area to undertake further education. Without doubt, my strongest passion has always been to educate and inform our clients and the public at large. We developed our own practice to focus more on strategies than products, and this approach has proven to be most rewarding. My wife, Jan, and I enjoy working together and we built our practice on the value we place on personal and professional service provided over the years. Our social life consists mainly of travelling around Australia in our motorhome, sprinkled with the odd overseas holiday as well.
My background in accounting led me to the financial planning profession in 1998. Since then I have enjoyed working with a fantastic range of clients to help them reach their financial goals. My work gives me great satisfaction in being able to help my clients become more financially secure and educating them to feel more in control of their finances. I am also grateful that through my work I have the chance to meet and get to know my clients and their families.
Outside of work I am married with three children and our focus is to enjoy spending time together as a family - at home, on holiday, playing sports and other adventures. Personally, I enjoy keeping active (running, swimming, cycling, Crossfit), gardening, cooking and entertaining with friends and family.
I love what I do and very passionate about helping my clients getting the best outcome for their needs. I have been in the financial services industry for over 20 years and very excited to be a part of the MiQ Finance team.
Outside of work my passion is definitely my family. My husband Phil and three boys Jarrod, Rhys and Rocco. I love watching our boys play sport on the weekends and being very active with them. I also love entertaining with family and friends and there is never a dull moment in our busy house!! We also love travelling as a family and exploring different cultures.
